CHAMP COURSE - HOLE # 14
Hole #14 is a 561-yard straight away par 5 and the only par 5 on the back nine. This hole plays dead into the wind with trees and O.B. along the left side and water along the entire right. The tee shot needs to be left center of the fairway to give a clear second shot. If you land on the right side, you will be blocked out by a pack of trees. Trees guard the left side on your second shot. You will be partially hitting over water and (hopefully) long enough to carry. Long hitters need to look out for fairway bunkers, one on the left side and one in the center just short of the green. The third shot should be from 75 to 135 yards into a small green guarded by three bunkers, two short ones and another along the left side. The green has some serious undulations and is a challenge to the putter. |
